About

“PAXON” hobby kennel was established in 1968 with the arrival of our 1st litter of Miniature Schnauzers. The 2 puppies we retained completed their championships in 1970.

After breeding and successfully showing the Minis, we fell in love with the Kerry Blue Terriers we met at shows. A neighbor had a well-bred champion-producing bitch; arrangements were made to purchase a show prospect from her next litter. The rest is history!

Ch. Blu Star’s Kerri Dancer arrived on January 1, 1979. She finished her championship at 16 months of age with a 5 point win …owner groomed & handled… at the prestigious Montgomery CountyClub Terrier show She went on to become a multiple group winner with many additional group placements. As a producer, she became the top producing Kerry bitch of her day with 15 champion offspring.

Kerri Dancer produced many top winners, but most notably the son from her 1st litter, Ch. Paxon’s Dancer’s Image, a champion at just 10 months of age, with 3 majors and a sweepstakes win at Montgomery Co. KC. As a producer, he sired 30 American champions and numerous others in Canada & overseas. He was the 1st Kerry to produce puppies using frozen semen, siring 2 litters in Sweden.

Another dog of note was his grandson, Ch. Paxon’s Rough Rider. He was a multiple Sweepstakes winner including Montgomery Co. KC and was a multiple Specialty winner including a win from Veterans class! He went on to sire 17 champions.

The Paxon Champions now total 119 American champions with numerous more overseas.
